ArabicTerminology "aka ArabTerm" is an open Arabic terminology portal and specialized dictionary. ArabTerm is intended to be a terminology database from which all Arabic audience including translators, terminologists, reviewers, editors, copy writers, teachers, researchers, localizers and students can benefit. Our main goal is to serve the Arabic community with up-to-date and standard Arabic terminology. There is a big lack of Arabic specialized terminology and we are trying to fill the gap. The goal of ArabTerm is to create one place for unified Arabic terminology and coining new terms for new concepts and terms in English.

Here is how you can help:

1)     ArabTerm is a non-profitable open portal which means it is mainly driven by its members' contributions. I encourage each one to help us enrich our terminology database. If you have a good terminology database in any format 'doc, xls, txt, sql, etc' that you would like to share with the community, please drop us a line. You can think of your contributions as "Sadaka Garyeaa = صدقة جارية". We are the Umma of "Iqraa" and we should help our language survive and nourish.

2)     If you see a wrong term, misspellings or typos, please let us know and report this. You can email us at arabterm (at) gmail (dot) com. Right now, editing of terms is closed. If more members are willing to fix issues, we can open this for some of real committed and enthusiastic members.

3)     We have a Questions and Answers (Q&A) page. You need to register though before you can submit or answer questions. If you come across a sentence or a term and you are confused on how to translate, you can post your questions. You need to register though before you can submit or answer questions. We will do our best to answer your questions, but again this is a community-driven portal, so we hope our members will share their knowledge with the community. You can help by answering questions. Please don't submit any inflammatory or inappropriate posts. (On hold for now)

رَجَعْتُ لنفْسِي فاتَّهمتُ حَصاتِــي ~~ وناديْتُ قَوْمِي فاحْتَسَبْتُ حياتِي
رَمَوني بعُقمٍ في الشَّبابِ وليتَنــي ~~ عَقِمتُ فلم أجزَعْ لقَولِ عِداتي
وَلَدتُ ولمَّا لـم أجِــدْ لعرائسـي ~~  رِجالـاً وأَكفــاءً وَأَدْتُ بنـــاتِي
وسِعتُ كِتابَ اللـهِ لَفظـاً وغايـة ً ~~ وما ضِقْتُ عن آيٍ به وعِظاتِ
فكيف أضِيقُ اليومَ عن وَصفِ آلة ٍ ~~ وتَنْسِيقِ أسماءٍ لمُخْترَعاتِ
أنا البحر في أحشائه الدر كامـن ~~ فهل ساءلوا الغواص عن صدفاتي
فيا وَيحَكُم أبلى وتَبلى مَحاسِنــي ~~ ومنْكمْ وإنْ عَزَّ الدّواءُ أساتِي
فـلا تَكِلُونـي للزّمـانِ فإنّنــي ~~      أخافُ عليكم أن تَحينَ وَفاتي
أرى لرِجـالِ الغَربِ عِزّاً ومَنعَـة ً ~~  وكم عَزَّ أقوامٌ بعِزِّ لُغاتِ
أتَوْا أهلَهُـم بـالمُعجِزاتِ تَفَنُّنـاً ~~     فيا ليتَكُمْ تأتونَ بالكلِمَاتِ
أيُطرِبُكُم من جانِبِ الغَربِ ناعِـبٌ ~~  يُنادي بِوَأدي في رَبيعِ حَياتي
ولو تَزْجُرونَ الطَّيرَ يوماً عَلِمتُـمُ ~~   بما تحتَه مِنْ عَثْرَة ٍ وشَتاتِ
سقَى اللهُ في بَطْنِ الجزِيرة ِ أَعْظُماً ~~ يَعِزُّ عليها أن تلينَ قَناتِي
حَفِظْنَ وِدادِي في البِلى وحَفِظْتُـه   ~~  لهُنّ بقلبٍ دائمِ الحَسَراتِ
وفاخَرْتُ أَهلَ الغَرْبِ والشرقُ مُطْرِقٌ ~~ حَياءً بتلكَ الأَعْظُمِ النَّخِراتِ
أرى كلَّ يومٍ بالجَرائِـدِ مَزْلَقــاً ~~     مِنَ القبرِ يدنينِي بغيرِ أناة ِ
وأسمَعُ للكُتّابِ في مِصـرَ ضَجّـة ً ~~  فأعلَمُ أنّ الصَّائحِين نُعاتي
أَيهجُرنِي قومِي-عفا الله عنهــمُ ~~     إلى لغة ٍ لمْ تتّصلِ برواة ِ
سَرَتْ لُوثَة ُ الإفرنج فيها كمَا سَرَى ~~ لُعابُ الأفاعي في مَسيلِ فُراتِ
فجاءَتْ كثَوْبٍ ضَمَّ سبعين رُقْعـة ً ~~  مشكَّلة َ الأَلوانِ مُختلفاتِ
إلى مَعشَرِ الكُتّابِ والجَمعُ حافِــلٌ ~~ بَسَطْتُ رجائِي بَعدَ بَسْطِ شَكاتِي
فإمّا حَياة ٌ تبعثُ المَيْتَ في البِلـى ~~ وتُنبِتُ في تلك الرُّمُوسِ رُفاتي
وإمّا مَماتٌ لا قيامَــة َ بَعــدَهُ   ~~   مماتٌ لَعَمْــرِي لـمْ يُقَـسْ بممـاتِ
